Bounliang Keomanyvong

Bounliang Keomanyvong, born on March 14, 1959, in Khammouane, Laos, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bounliang worked as a custodian for the Raytown C-2 School District, where she was known as being reserved and kind. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in tending to her garden, cooking delicious meals for her family, and every now and then trying her luck at the slots. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she enjoyed sharing her food with loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lone Pannhaxay. Bounliang leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Kasey Namphengsone, Vonna Keomanyvong, and Sandy Keomanyvong; sons-in-law, Bon Namphengsone and Yung Tran; sisters, Keo Pannhaxay and Penny Catalano Duncan (Nang); brothers, Kie Pannhaxay and An Pannhaxay; grandchildren, Brandon Tran, Emilee Namphengsone, Jubae Namphengsone, Jordan Tran, Kimora Namphengsone, and Cameron Tran; great-granddaughter, Rheya Tran; granddaughter-in-law, Sara Tran; nieces, Kim Pannhaxay, Olivia Catalano, and Molly Pannhaxay; and nephews, John Pannhaxay, Donnie Pannhaxay, Ricky Pannhaxay, and Dominic Catalano.

Her family remembers her as a devoted mother and grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her, and her legacy will live on through the family she cherished so dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Amos Family Funeral Home, located at 10901 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, Kansas. A visitation will take place on Friday, March 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location.

Bounliang's family invites all who knew her to join them in celebrating her life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
