Bryan Wayne Bonar, 59, passed away September 16, 2024, after a heart attack in Shawnee, Kansas. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 29, 1965, to Vern and Bobby Ann Bonar. Bryan spent his life traveling the highways and byways of America as an over-the-road truck driver. He was a diligent worker who delivered trucks across the country with expertise and dedication.
Bryan had a passion for all things muscle cars and could often be found elbow-deep in grease, restoring classic beauties to their former glory. His love for animals was well-known, and he recently welcomed Chico, a Bull Terrier, into his life—a duo that was nearly inseparable until the end.
Cooking became a recent hobby for Bryan, and he delighted in creating meals for his friends and family. His gatherings were legendary, filled with laughter, great food, and stories from his travels. He briefly attended McPherson College, where he forged friendships that stood the test of time. In his later years, Bryan became the devoted caregiver for his parents, Vern and Bobby Ann, ensuring their needs always came first.
Bryan leaves behind his loving mother, Bobby Ann, his father, Vern, his brother, Erik Bonar (Karen), and a nephew. They, along with his many friends, will miss his kindness, and zest for life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
