C. S. Andy Anderson

C. S. Andy Anderson, 78, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at the Trinity Nursing and Rehab, Merriam, Kansas.

Andy was born February 21, 1934, in Warren, Minnesota, to Carl and Dorice (Frykman) Anderson. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Andy attended Nebraska Weslyan University, North Park College in Chicago, Illinois, and received his Master’s degree from Kansas State University. He was a media specialist for special education at USD 500 in Kansas City, Kansas, and later an addiction counselor at the Addiction Stress Center.

Survivors include his wife, Carol L. Anderson; daughter Dorice Anderson, Topeka, Kansas; six sons and their spouses, Bradley, Lenexa, Kansas, Timothy and Connie, Pittsburg, Kansas, Theodore and Debra, Topeka, Kansas, Hayes and Tina, Daphne, Alabama, Adam and Julia, Kansas City, Kansas, Clay and Michelle, Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Jacqueline and Art Mample, Seattle, Washington; four step-children, Rick and Patty Hollingsworth, DeSoto, Kansas, Ron and Katie Hollingsworth, Shawnee, Kansas, David and Liz Hollingsworth, Warsaw, Missouri and Rhonda Hollingsworth, Platte City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the funeral home.
