Calvin L. Stevenson IV "Buddy" age 28, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023 at Advent Health Medical Center with family present.
Calvin was born to Calvin L. Stevenson III and Sherri A. Bowman on March 22, 1995 in Kansas City, Kansas, and later moved to Olathe, Kansas to live with his Grandmother. Calvin was the second of four children, Samantha, Sarah, and Connor. As a result of birthing complications, Calvin sustained severe brain trauma, and was diagnosed with Quadriplegia at the age of two-weeks. Despite all that Calvin "Buddy" endured throughout his life, his Grandmother took him into her care and provided a home and much needed love for our child throughout his lifetime. He was always cared for and supported with a team of in home nurses that fell in love with this pure souled boy. Never enough thanks for all of the care provided by his Grandmother and Nurses who never ceased the care and love for this young man night and day throughout his entire life. Buddy was a pure soul and a beautiful son. His Grandma always loved to sing "You Are My Sunshine" and was guaranteed a big smile from our Buddy.
Despite his hardships and suffering, he always managed a smile and was an inspiration of strength, courage, and resilience to everyone who knew him. A shining example of perseverance and love the world rarely sees.
The most beautiful thing about this young man is that it was widely understood and recognized that this young man was blessed beyond measure, a Sinless Living Angel. Our son was free of any sin his entire life, and was sent by God to change the people he came in contact with as a result. He now resides in Heaven with the Angels and is free once and for all.
Buddy will be laid to rest at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 10 am.
