Carol Elaine Dimmick

May 30, 1955 — December 12, 2008

Carol Elaine Dimmick, age 53 passed away December 12, 2008 at the Good Samaritan nursing home in Olathe, Kansas.

Carol was born May 30, 1955 at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas to Clifford and Irene Suddarth. Carol attended church and grade school at Calvary Lutheran in Kansas City, Missouri. She went to high school at Southwest High School. While she was at Southwest she met her first husband Donald E. Felten. They were married on December 22, 1973 at Calvary Lutheran Church. Carol married her second husband Damon Dimmick on May 1, 1980.

In September of 1983 Carol was electrocuted getting off a merry-go-round after it had started to rain. Since then she has lived in rehabs and nursing homes. This accident had left her paralyzed and unable to speak.

Carol was preceded in death by her father Clifford Suddarth on September 12, 2006 and numerous Uncles and Aunts. Carol is survived by her mother Irene Suddarth and Uncle Art Seute who lived at the Good Samaritan and saw Carol everyday. Her brother Dennis Suddarth and his wife Mary Ann and their children of Springfield, Virginia. Her daughter Leigh Anne Klemm and her husband Todd and their children Alexander Christian, Lauryn Elaine and Kaitlyn Ashleigh of Overland Park, Kansas. Her daughter Sarah Dotson and her husband Daniel and their son Jonathan of Blue Springs, Missouri. Carol is also survived by her caregiver for many years JoAnne Patterson. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Good Samaritan Home for their care of Carol.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 17, 10-11 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow and 11 a.m. with burial at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens.
