Carol Jean Heffernon

Carol Jean (DeFeo) Heffernon, 76, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away February 25th, 2021.

Carol graduated from Cardinal Glennon High School in 1962 and attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, graduating in 1964. Carol worked in a medical family practice for 12 years and was the office manager of a neurosurgery practice for 29 years retiring in 2007.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Patrick, her parents Charles and Anne (Maturo) DeFeo, her brother, Hon. Charles DeFeo, Jr., and nephew Frank Fontana. She is survived by her sons, John Paul (Vickie) Heffernon and Hon. Michael Charles (Elizabeth) Heffernon and seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Michael Patrick, Jacob, John Charles, Maximilian, Zachary and sisters, Adele Perkins, Mary Jo Fontana, and Kelly DeFeo.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 4th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, Kansas. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. following the visitation. Carol’s remains will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
