Carol Velky Piper

Carol Velky Piper, 85 of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away May 4, 2010.

Carol was born January 26, 1925 in Densmore, Kansas, to Lionel and Elsa (Shimonek) Hotaling. Carol retired from TWA after working over 25 years. She was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Frank Velky, and Arthur Piper; and two brothers, Wayne and Don Hotaling. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Utterback and Phyllis Schrader (Don); a nephew, Wayne Hotaling Jr.; and many friends.

The family wishes to thank Sunflower Hospice and caregivers, JoAnn and Erica for their loving care.

Burial

It was Carol's wish to have a simple family burial. She wanted her friends to remember her in their prayers.
