Carol Ann Watson (Sifers), 85, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
Carol was born on January 31, 1937, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Sacred Heart Convent High School in 1955 and married Carroll “Chuck” Watson in 1961 with whom she cherished until his passing in 2007.
Carol was at the pinnacle of her game when things got challenging (and with four boys in the house things were always challenging). Being required to relocate the family every two years to meet the demands of Chuck’s work, she could pack a house, move, unpack, enroll her sons in school, shuttle the boys to baseball practice, play a set of tennis and host a bridge party; all in a weeks’ time. She often joked about the many moving happenstances (example: arriving to one new house while on fire) for which she says, if she had taken the time to write them all down, would have made her a famously funny author!
She was family-oriented and very strong in her faith. Although quite opinionated (she had to be) Carol was always welcoming and hospitable to all. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and Mimi.
In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her daughter Andrea and her brother Jerry Sifers. She is survived by her four children, Andrew (Dina) Watson of Tybee Island, Georgia, Charles “Alan” (Karen) Watson of Tybee Island, Georgia, Adam Watson of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Alex Watson of Olathe, Kansas. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Woodrow (Jennifer) Watson, Zachary Watson, Rachel Watson, Spencer Watson, and Reagan Watson; as well as her brother Phillip (MaryLee) Sifers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carol was a strong and wonderful soul, and she will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 o’clock Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Tybee Island, Georgia. The Burial (Graveside) Service will be held Friday, August 19th at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery located at 83rd St. and Quivera Rd. in Lenexa, KS.
