Carolyn Jean (Westfall) Vandekerkhove

Carolyn Jean VanDeKerkhove, 80, of Lenexa, passed away on Monday, September 19th, 2022 at The Healthcare Resort of Olathe.  She was born on May 30, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert and Jean Westfall (Czech).  She worked for over 25 years as a cook for DeSoto USD 232 School District, owned Carolyn’s Custom Cakes and retired from Home Depot. Carolyn loved sewing, crafts, cooking, watching TV, eating ice cream and spending time with her grandkids.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe VanDeKerkhove, her parents Robert & Jean Westfall and brother William Westfall.  She is survived by sons James VanDeKerkhove, Kenneth VanDeKerkhove (Milynn) and daughter Laura Bowman (Keith); four grandchildren Ashley Bonderer (Ethan), Samuel Bowman, Chandler and Adam VanDeKerkhove; brothers Robert Westfall (Mindy), Mike Westfall (Hope) and Dennis Westfall.

Graveside services will be held for both Joe and Carolyn on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215.
