Carrie Q. Rodgers

October 23, 1927 — March 30, 2020

Carrie Q. Rodgers, 92, of Overland Park, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020. She was born on October 23, 1927 in Norborne, MO to Obediah and Mary (Hale) Stevens. Carrie taught at the Chapel Hill School in Norborne and attended Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, now the University of Central Missouri. On November 7, 1949, she married Loren Rodgers in Columbia, MO, and was married until his death in 2009.

Carrie enjoyed a career in accounts payable at Merck, where she met many good friends with whom she kept in touch. She was a long-time member of Church of the Holy Cross in Overland Park, KS. Loved by many, she was known for her kind letters, enjoyment of mystery books and support for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, Loren Rodgers; brother, Obert Stevens, and by sister-in-laws, Darlene Stevens and Mary Ellen Stevens. Survivors include her daughter, Theresa "Renee" Rodgers-Campbell and husband Richard of Shawnee, KS; brothers, Francis Stevens of Liberty, MO and Edward Stevens and wife Judy of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Genevieve Casey and husband Wes of Mission, KS and Caitlin Campbell of Kansas City, MO, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private entombment was held at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS, with a Memorial Mass scheduled for a later date.
