Catheleen D. Lunceford, 61, of Mission, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 in her home with her loving family by her side.

Catheleen was born March 17, 1954 to Richard and Maxine Howard in Kansas City, KS. Cathie graduated from Bishop Ward High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Avila University. She was a longtime Kansas City resident and worked at several area hospitals including St. Luke's and the University of Kansas Hospital. She was a seasoned, battle-axe, grumpy nurse that somehow managed to get patients to do what they didn't want to do. Catheleen was everyone's mother, hard, but loving and firm. She worked hard to provide for her family, and always put them first.

Catheleen is survived by her two loving daughters, Sarah Young; Rachel Lunceford; three grandchildren, Alexis, Lillian and Cody; a sister, Diana Wilkinson; and Michael Lunceford.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. A Celebration of Catheleen's life will follow at 3 p.m.
