Chad E. Reed, 41, of Kansas City, passed away, Saturday, October 22, at his home.
Chad was born January 14, 1975 to Carl B. Reed and Patty S. Koehler in Merriam, KS. Chad graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1993. After high school Chad attended JCCC and earned an Associate's degree in Hospitality Management. He went on to UMKC and earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice with honors. While at UMKC, Chad became actively involved in trying to eliminate sex trafficking. He enjoyed skiing in Colorado, and following his favorite bands, Widespread Panic and the Grateful Dead across the country to attend concerts. He was an avid Frisbee golfer and loved spending time playing with his best furry friend Chester.
Chad is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Harden and Josephine Mann. Chad is survived by his parents, Patty S. Koehler and husband Tom; Carl B. Reed and wife Melody Miller; a sister, Michelle D. Lincoln and husband Michael; two nieces, Shawna and Chelsea Lincoln; two nephews, Tanner and Michael Lincoln; and grandnephew, Parker.
Visitation will be 1 - 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 26 at Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira, Overland Park, KS. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with burial at Pleasantview Cemetery.
