Charles F. Bain

Over his 95 years, Charlie Bain was an avid fisherman, golfer and enjoyed building/flying model aircrafts. He bravely served his country on the European front during WWII; loved western novels, bingo, and fishing trips to Canada. Charlie retired from Smith & Loveless as Director of Purchasing in 1981 after 25 years of service. He was honorable, kind and generous with his time. Above all, Charlie was a family man. Devoted husband; loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. Our rock. Our teacher. Our "go-to" guy in a crisis. Friendly and outgoing with a great sense of humor, Charlie never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed. Charlie left his family and friends on February 27, 2017; children "Dottie"/Annette (Harris) Deutsch and Deborah (Jon) Gates; grandsons Erich (Cathy) Reinsch, Jeff (Linc Howell) Gates, and Brandon (Sarah) Gates; great-grandchildren Stephen (Emily Bears) Reinsch, Maxwell Gates and Macey Gates; "adopted" daughters Teri Flanagan and Mary Tenebehn; and was reunited with his wife Ruth of 68 years, mother (Lula Belle) and father (Andy Amace).
