Charles A. Caler of Overland Park, Kansas age 94 passed away on October 3, 2016. Charles was born in Claflin, Kansas in 1922. He was raised in both Claflin and Geneseo, Kansas . Charles attended Kansas State University for two years before leaving for WWII. He became a Marine Pilot with the Checkerboards VMF 312. He served in the South Pacific flying Corsairs. After the war he went to the University of Kansas to finish his degree. He was a life long avid KU fan. He worked in the petroleum business on the marketing side his entire working career. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty June Caler and younger brother Harold Caler. Charles is survived by his three sons: Gary (June) Caler, Dennis Caler and William Caler. He has five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
