Charles “Chuck” L. Smith

Charles "Chuck" L. Smith, 44, of Mission, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013.

Chuck was born August 9, 1968, in Lawrence, Kansas. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1986. After graduating from high school, Chuck attended the United States Coast Guard Academy before transferring to the University of Kansas to complete his Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry.

On September 21, 1996, he married MaryLou Keenan in Shawnee, Kansas. She survives of the home. Also surviving are his children, Walker and Caroline Smith; his loving parents, Linda and Harrel Smith, a brother, Donald Paul Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A private family service with burial at Shawnee Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Walker and Caroline Smith College Fund, c/o Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203.
