Charles “Chuck” Wallace Smith

Chuck W. Smith, 80, of Lenexa, KS, passed away on August 1, 2017. He was born on December 27, 1936, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Wallace and Alice Smith. Chuck is survived by his wife, Marian (Kruse) Smith; children, Allison (Gary) Ewing of Lenexa, KS, Sarah (Phillip) Jensen of Rochester, IL, Greg (Lynne) Smith of Parker, TX, Chuck (John Bridges) Smith of Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Julia (Dan) Miner of Des Moines, IA, Rebecca (Alan) Downing of Olathe, KS, Caroline Ewing of Lenexa, KS, Benjamin Tobias of Harrisburg, PA, Abigail Smith of Parker, TX, Emma Smith of Parker, TX, Lillian Smith of Parker, TX; sisters, Beverly Osnowitz of Venice, FL, Sandra (Ed) Waldorf of Racine, WI. Chuck and Marian were residents of Alton/Godfrey, IL, for 42 years. He worked for Olin Corporation in East Alton, IL, serving in general management of various product lines, reaching the position of Vice President and General Manager. Chuck and Marian retired and spent 13 years in Naples, Florida. In early 2017, they moved to Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas to be closer to family. They were married June 6, 1958 and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

A memorial service will be held at Church of the Resurrection on Saturday, August 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Wesley Covenant Chapel.
