Charles Joseph Dobbels, Sr.

Charles "Charlie" Joseph Dobbels, Sr., 93, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Providence Place in Kansas City, Kansas.

Charles was born February 3, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Remi and Marie Dobbels.

Charlie is survived by a daughter, Judy Conway; two sons, Charles J. Dobbels, Jr. and George E. Dobbels and wife Dixie; brother, Felix Dobbels and wife Geraldine; sister, Margaret DeMuelenaere; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his, wife, Mary; son-in-law Stephen Conway; three brothers, Aloysius "Duck", Albert "Al", and Gustave "Gus"; and one sister, Irene.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities, those may be left at the funeral home.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, November 11, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Shawnee.
