Charles L. “Charlie” House

Charles L. House, 67, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away, Thursday, September 1, 2011, at his home.

Charles was born May 21, 1944, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to James and Lucile Cather House. He graduated from both Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University in 1966 and practiced Law in the Kansas City area for many years. He was a member of the National Forensics League and the Missouri Bar Association.

Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara L. House of the home; daughters, Carrie Pflumm of Shawnee, Kansas, Chandra Rebeck of Lenexa, Kansas, Jill House of Shawnee, Kansas, and Kimberley Chandler of Spring Lake, North Carolina; a son, Jim House of Kansas City, Kansas; a sister, Teresa House of Kansas City, Missouri; and 12 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Post-Polio Health International.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the chapel where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.
