Charles Jenkins

October 10, 1961 — April 13, 2025

With hearts both heavy and grateful, we announce the passing of Charles Lee Jenkins, “Chuck,” who departed this world on April 13, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Atlantic, IA, Chuck graced the world with his boundless enthusiasm and kindness, ultimately leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A proud son of Ruth and Larry Jenkins, Chuck embarked on a life filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures. He was not only cherished by his sisters, Lori Murante, Kim Carter, and Kris Demman, but also deeply respected and adored by their families.

During his formative years in David City, Chuck distinguished himself as a starting quarterback and a four-sport varsity athlete for the David City Scouts, even earning the honor of senior homecoming king, class of 1980. His determination and spirit were evident early on, paving the way for a lifetime of accomplishments.

An ardent craftsman, Chuck found solace and joy in woodworking, fishing, and restoring classic cars. His passion for Nebraska football was legendary, and he often shared this love with family and friends. But above all, his greatest pride and joy was being a grandpa.

Chuck’s professional journey took him to AgTek Enterprises, where his entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly. He was a visionary, always striving to innovate and excel, inspiring those around him with his dedication and tenacity.

His legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Kristin Jenkins, his eldest daughter, Jacque Hausinger, her husband Michael, and their daughter Phiona; his daughter, Abigail Defendorf, her husband Alex, and their son Clay; and his cherished son, Luke Jenkins, his wife Alex, and their daughter Olivia.

Chuck's life, though cut short by heart failure, was one of immense love and profound impact. As we celebrate his life, we remember a man who embodied warmth, wisdom, and unwavering strength.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Heart Failure Unit at The University of Kansas Health System. Online gifts can be made here. Checks should be sent to Laurence Freeman, The University of Kansas Health System, Fund Development, 11300 Corporate Avenue, Suite 240, Lenexa, KS 66219.
