Charles Daniel Masoner

January 23, 1950 — February 27, 2021

Charles Daniel Masoner, 71, of Lenexa, KS passed away peacefully after a lengthy nursing home stay.

Charles spent 13 years in the U.S. Army and his service was a sense of pride.  He was an M1 Tank Commander and a Sharp Shooter.  He achieved the rank of Sergeant 1st Class.  He also served in the Kansas National Guard.  After retiring from the Army he worked at Sprint Nextel, Overland Park, Kansas and then Ericsson Services International until his retirement.

Education was important to him and he was always expanding his mind.  He graduated from Shawnee Mission West High Class of 1968 and then the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS in 1972.

He enjoyed building and working on computers.  His other hobbies included kayaking, stargazing and lover of history.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dorothy Masoner and also his brother, Eugene Masoner.  He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Lee Teepen (Herren) of Overland Park, KS and Carol Ann Duffley of Oakdale, Pennsylvania along with many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS.

The family asks any donations in Charles’ name to be made to Boy Scouts of America.
