Charles W. Matlock, Jr.

Charles W. Matlock, Jr., 78, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, at his home.

Charles was born January 31, 1933, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, to Dr. Charles W. and Mabel (St. John) Matlock. He was a veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne, during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, Charles married Ruth Ann Kirkpatrick inKansas City,Kansas. Charles attended UMKC, graduating in 1966. He was in production management in the chemical and manufacturing industry.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas T. Matlock; sister, Patricia S. Austill; son, William Kirk Matlock and daughter, Kelly Ann Seabolt. S urvivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann Matlock; two daughters, Kathy L. Burman, Ottawa, Kansas and Kristine K. Matlock and husband, Rich Godbold, Lawrence, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Brenda Burch, Overland Park, Kansas; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Overland Park Presbyterian Church, 8029 Overland Park Drive, Overland Park, Kansas 66204. Cremation.
