Charles Eugene Newell Sr., 86, passed away November 7, 2015 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Charles was born February 23, 1929 in Merriam, Kansas to Charles and Eda Newell. Charles is survived by his wife, Freda M. of 66 years, daughter, Sharon (Rick) Larkin, son, Charles E. Newell Jr., five grandchildren (Jason, Adrienne, Amanda, Megan and Tiffany), six great-grandchildren (Makenzie, Aubri, Haiden, Alyx, Julian, and Chloi), sister, Donna Romine, brother, Dale Newell. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and son Terry Leon Newell.

A Visitation is set for 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at The Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, Kansas 66203. Gun Salute, Taps and presentation of the flag will begin at 6:00 with visitation following.
