Charles Thomas Wilkins

Charles Thomas Wilkins, 92, Lenexa, KS passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Lakeview Village Care Center, Lenexa, KS.

Charles was born July 30, 1922 in Clinton, KY to E. Walter and Dessie Wilkins. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard, aboard the USS Cavalier during WWII. Charles retired in 1990 after working many years in the grocery business. He initially owned and operated his own grocery store in Kentucky and spent the remainder of his career in sales, chiefly with Libby Foods. Charles was a longtime member of Lenexa United Methodist Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cecil Wilkins. Survivors include his wife, Anna "Tillie" Wilkins; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Ryan, Lenexa, KS; son, Tom (Lisa) Wilkins, Tulsa, OK; sister, Hazel Whitlock, Clinton, KY; five grandchildren, Katie (Stephen Hardy) Ryan, Westwood Hills, KS, Kevin Ryan, Reno, NV, Erin Ryan, Stillwater, OK, Dr. Jeremy Chastain, St. Louis, MO and David Wilkins, Tulsa, OK; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Andrew Hardy.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Lenexa United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the church. Private family burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery.
