Charles L. “Chuck” Wirth, Jr.

April 1, 1928 — February 10, 2015

Charles "Chuck" L. Wirth, Jr., 86, of Shawnee passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.

Chuck was born April 1, 1928, to the late Charles and Catherine Wirth in Annapolis, Maryland. After graduating high school Chuck served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Williams Institute of Mortuary Science in Kansas City, Kansas and was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Kansas and Missouri. Chuck's career in the funeral industry spanned over 40 years with Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary in Topeka, the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, and Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. He was a member of the Bristol Hill United Methodist Church, Peter Smith American Legion Post #327 and the Shawnee Sunrise Optimist Club, where he served as the Past President.

Chuck is preceded in death by his brother, Paul R. Wirth; He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Naomi J. Wirth, a daughter, Debra Willard (Don); a son, Mark Wirth (Lynda); four grandchildren, Tiffany, Tyler, Erin, and Miles; two great grandsons, Brecken and Brady.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Grace Hospice and Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fri, Feb. 13 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sat. Feb. 14 at Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, Kansas 66451.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
