Charlotte Louise Bray, 68, of Shawnee, KS passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Brookdale of Rosehill with her loving family by her side.
Charly was born October 24, 1946 to the late William Stevens and Maida Hollenbeck in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1964. Charly married Robert Bray, her high school sweetheart, on May 21, 1965. She enjoyed sewing and making jewelry, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren Payten and Macie.
Charly was an active member of Crossroads Christian Church, where she was a member of the SWINGS Group. She was a member of the Lady Shriner's; Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Red Hat Club, and Brown & Gold. Charly was also a member of the American Legion Post #327 Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years. After retiring in 2001, Charly volunteered at the Shawnee Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff's and Old Shawnee Town.
Charly is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert; a daughter Jennifer Hansen and husband Travis; two grandchildren Payten Bray Hansen and Macie Lee Hansen.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the Amos Family Funeral. A Celebration of Charly's life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
