Charlotte Kathryn Tomlinson of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at home on December 12th, 2021, at the age of 93.
She was born to Albert H. and Aileen Kyser Roemer on March 22nd, 1928, in Lorain, Ohio. Charlotte married George Tomlinson on August 14th, 1951. The couple had two sons, Bruce and Robert. Education was important to her, and she continued to pursue it until finally earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from Rockhurst University in 1987. She worked as a medical technologist at St. Luke’s for over 30 years. After retirement she continued to volunteer at the gift shop. Charlotte also took immense pride in the accomplishments of her family, of which there were many. From serving as a sheriff, holding elected office, to numerous graduations. She will always be remembered for her wit, which is a requirement in the Tomlinson family. Charlotte had a strong faith and was proud to have been a member of Bristol Hill United Methodist Church from its inception.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and husband George. She is survived by her sons Bruce (wife, Becky) Robert (wife, Carole); her five grandchildren Raina, Jamie (wife, Tori), Matthew (wife, Lucy), Phillip, Christopher (wife, Megan); and four great grandchildren Emma, Declan, Hagen, and Audrey.
Services for Charlotte will be held at Bristol Hill United Methodist Church 4826 County Line Rd, Kansas City, KS 66106 on December 18th, 2021. There will be a 9 AM visitation followed by a service at 10 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas (Singing Tower Section) at 12 PM, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604.
