Christopher Lawrence Goode, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away September 10, 2023.
He was born on August 26,1962 in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended St. Joseph Grade School, Shawnee Mission North High School and graduated from The University of Kansas. Chris is survived by his loving wife Teresa Alkire Goode, his children Teenie Goode (Dylan St. Clair), Will Goode, his grandson, Mac St. Clair, his siblings, Frank Goode Jr., Tom Goode, Larry Goode (Kathy), Julie Vodehnal (Mike), Annette Geving (Rich) along with several nieces and nephews.
Chris married the love of his life, Teresa, in 1989. He was a successful and committed independent business owner and he valued his relationship and time he spent with his loyal clients. Chris was a very quiet man with a dry sense of humor. He didn’t like a lot of attention centered on him except when he would call into radio stations and talk about sports. His fans knew him as 6 and 10 Chris. Chris was a wealth of knowledge and could state facts and information like no other. He knew so much about sports stats, players and facts and he shared this information on sports radio and most recently on Twitter (where he had thousands of followers).
Chris loved being with his family. He loved talking about sports and politics with his friends. He loved coaching his kids and loved watching them compete in sports. He was a very hard worker and he never complained. Chris’s death was very unexpected. He was diagnosed with colon cancer one week prior to his death. Chris passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Chris was preceded in death by his daughter, Caroline Goode, his parents Frank Goode Sr. and Mary Rose Goode.
Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Saturday, September 16, 2023. Visitation will be at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery where Chris will be laid to rest alongside his daughter, Caroline.
The family requests that the attendees wear their favorite jersey, t-shirt or hat representing their favorite sports team. Chris loved sports and they feel this is the best way to honor him. Chris will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Chris's name to these local organizations, Speak Up by CLICKING HERE , in memory of their daughter Caroline or Braden’s Hope for Childhood Cancer by CLICKING HERE .
