May 15, 1973 — June 15, 2011

Christopher LaRon Locke, 38, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Christopher was born May 15, 1973, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He grew up in Merriam, Kansas, and attended South Park Elementary School, Hocker Grove Junior High School and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1991. He attended cosmetology school in Dallas, Texas and worked as a hair stylist for many years. He was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri, where he taught Sunday school and belonged to the choir.

Chris's smile was as big as the ocean and his charisma and charm lit up a room like a beam of sunlight. Chris had a wicked sense of humor and could make you laugh even under stressful circumstances. Although he lived with a chronic illness for over 15 years, Chris remained upbeat and positive never abandoning hope.

He is survived by his grandmother Delores Locke-Graves (Robert); mother, Karmaletha Renee Brown; two brothers, Juanel Locke; Doyle Brown, Jr.; an uncle, Wesley Locke Jr. (Andrea); two aunts, Rieta Logan (Leo); Angela Locke (Christina); three cousins, Myrone Grady (Libby); Trina Williams (Vasco); Tai Locke and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
