Clarice "Cris" Streker

Clarice “Cris” Streker, 82, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. A celebration of Cris’ life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9 at Warsaw Faith Lutheran Church, 1201 Dogwood, Warsaw, MO 65355. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Salvation Army, 1200 E. Broadway; Sedalia, MO 65301 and Warsaw Faith Lutheran Church. Cris was born on July 29, 1939, in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Paul and Dorothy (Webb) Brotherton, the oldest of 3 children. Cris had a sweetheart in high school, Robert Streker. Bob's sister was the person who shortened Clarice to Cris. After graduation, they parted ways and each went on to marry others and lead full lives. But in 1989 when they were each single, they reunited and married on March 31, 1996. He preceded her in death in May of 2018. Cris was an advertising executive for over 40 years before her retirement in 2003. Bob and Cris were staunch supporters of the Warsaw Salvation Army and helped support a youth Sagrada Bible Camp near Warsaw. She was also an active member of the Warsaw Faith Lutheran Church for many years.

Chis is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob and younger brother Ed. She is survived by her sister, Rita Hauschild; three step sons, Richard Streker and wife Angela of Lee’s Summit; EJ Gannon of Winder, GA; and Lee Gannon and wife Lisa of Winder , GA; seven step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
