Clifford Wayne Marks

Clifford Wayne Marks, 83, of Merriam, Kansas passed away peacefully July 17th, 2023 in his home.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursday, July 27th, 2023 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the next day at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 28th also at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Clifford will be laid to rest next to his wife Glenett in Shawnee, Cemetery. Clifford's family encourages everyone to dress in Chiefs apparel.

Clifford was born March 25th, 1940 in Ottawa, Kansas to Robert and Mable Marks. Clifford worked as a golf caddy and had a paper route in his early years. Clifford enjoyed singing at   Rosedale High School and graduated in 1958.

Clifford served in the Navy from 1961-1966 as an Electrician's mate. He served on the USS Galveston. He worked as an electrician most of his life.

Clifford married Glenett March 17th, 1962. They  were married for 56 years before she passed away in 2019. He liked singing, dancing with Glenett, telling jokes, fixing things and tinkering with stuff. His house was always open to anyone who needed a meal, a hug or an ear to listen. Clifford was a Chiefs fan from the beginning and never missed watching a game.

Clifford is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mable Marks; his wife Glenett Marks; his sister Linda Cummings and brothers Robert Marks Jr. and Ernest Marks. He is survived by his sisters; Colene Green and Wanda Scarff; his son Michael Marks and his wife Kim Marks; his daughters Karen Reeves; Kathy Hunt and husband Tim Hunt, Kristina Cost and husband Jeffrey Cost; grandchildren Michael Marks Jr., Nicole Marks, John R. Marks, Cassandra Barker, Joshua Nauman, Samantha Reeves, Warren Moore, Cody Moore, Andrew Moore, Amanda Moore, Ian Hunt, Tynan Hunt, Jacob Cost, Jonah Cost and many precious great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice in Clifford’s name or  contributions to his final arrangements would be appreciated.
