Cody Allen Van Lerberg passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2021 at the University of Kansas Medical Center at the age of 33.
Cody was born in Roswell, Georgia on February 27, 1988 to Ward and Linda Van Lerberg, the first born of 4 children. He grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe Northwest High School. He married his middle school sweetheart, Asia Kahler, and together they had 5 beautiful boys; Silas (10), Elijah (9), Noah (7), Gideon (3) and Samuel (1). Cody was a devoted and hands-on husband and father. He loved fishing, camping, playing video games, and having dance parties with his family. He worked very hard to provide the best life for his wife and sons. Cody always made an effort to create lasting relationships with friends, turning them into family. Some of Cody’s favorite times were camping with his family, smoking BBQ with friends, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Cody is survived by wife, Asia Van Lerberg; sons Silas, Elijah, Noah, Gideon and Samuel; parents Ward and Linda Van Lerberg; siblings Megan (Timothy) Van Zee, Dale Van Lerberg, and Madeline Van Lerberg; and many other loved ones and friends who will miss him dearly.
Services will be held on Monday, August 9th, 2021 at Christ Community Church – Olathe Campus at 10 am. The family strongly encourages that Kansas City Chiefs attire be worn for Cody’s boys. His burial will follow after the service at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a Go Fund Me account that has been set up to help his family. You can click RIGHT HERE to donate.
