Constance Rose Girten

Constance Rose Girten, 83, Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 at her son's home.

Constance was born Sept. 23, 1934 in Shawnee, KS to Andrew Jerome and Elizabeth Helen (Lally) Pflumm. Connie got her real-estate license in 1962 and was a highly successful broker and member of the multi-million dollar club. She owned her own real-estate business for several years and continued to sell real-estate until her first stroke five years ago. When Connie suffered a second stroke she was sent home from the hospital to die.  But her fierce will to live fueled by her love for her children kept her going for another 4 years.  She passed away at her son Kevin's home surround by those who loved her.

Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Lynch and husband, Rex Andrews. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Green Maze; four sons, Chris Girten, Patrick Girten, John Girten, and Kevin Girten; four sisters, Betty Nunnick, Patty Baranowski, Louise Hadel, and Ann Marie Gardner; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Shawnee, KS. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
