Corey Stephen Arnold, of Shawnee, KS passed away on January 28 th , 2022. He was born on June 13, 1974 in Kansas City, Kansas.
He leaves behind his significant other, Mary Farrell; his parents, John Arnold and Selma (Beaty) Steinhilber; his one brother, Richard Arnold; two sisters, Amanda (Steinhilber) Ryan and Samantha (Steinhilber) Lopez; niece, Rayne Lopez; his aunts, April Beaty, and Katie (Beaty) Jones; his uncle, Keith Arnold; and paternal grandmother, Bea Arnold.
Corey spent his first five years in Shawnee and then lived in Atlanta, GA, Aurora, IL, Fremont, CA and in Reno, NV before he moved back to Kansas City in 1989 with his family. He was active in sports as he grew older participating in baseball and soccer. In the San Francisco area, he loved to boogie board at Santa Cruz. He started skateboarding in Reno, NV and continued throughout his adult life.
He worked at several lumber yards throughout Kansas City over the years, the last, Kansas City Building Supply. They were ready resources for building two indoor skateboarding parks in Overland Park and Merriam, KS. Corey opened KC Indoor Skatepark in early 2003. The initial skatepark closed and eventually he opened a second location in Merriam in front of the Treeline Lumber building.
