Curtis Taylor Myatt

July 19, 1953 — May 10, 2021

Curtis Taylor Myatt, 67, Shawnee, KS passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 10, 2021. Curtis was born July 19, 1953 to the late Richard and Beryl Myatt in Lexington, MO. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1971, and went on to attend his first year of college at Wentworth Military Academy. Curtis transferred to Central Missouri State University where he earned an associate’s degree in business in 1973. He was very active in his younger days and enjoyed playing softball, playing tennis, golfing and bird hunting with his favorite German Shorthair, Chelsea. Curtis also enjoyed a beautiful relationship with his mother, they enjoyed taking walks and cooking fried chicken. He worked as a Sales Manager for Ingram Entertainment for 28 years before retiring in 2014. Curtis was also an active member in the Kansas City AA Community, he recently celebrated 7 years of sobriety this month. He loved his family, friends and AA members. Curtis always lived by his motto, “Isn’t fun a good thing to have?”. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beryl; and his wife Susan. Curtis is survived by his daughter Brianne Shugrue and husband Tim; grandchildren, Abigail and Silas; close friend and confidant, Marcy Lewis; and a cousin, Donna Clark.
