Kevin Smith, 52, of Stilwell KS, was surrounded by loved ones when he passed away peacefully May 20, 2015. Kevin was born December 25, 1962 in Kan., to Janice (Pearson) and Claude (Bud) E. Smith, Jr. where Ottawa, Kansas City Kansas, and ultimately Stilwell became his home. After Graduating from Blue Valley High School and Johnson County Community College he spent more than 25 years assisting patients and families through his giving career of Medical Sales, Home Health Care, and Hospice. Kevin was dedicated to his family and was so proud of the two children he raised. He loved spending time outdoors; working in the garden, camping and being by the pool. Kevin enjoyed attending sporting events and activities his children were involved in; and nothing stood in his way during KU Basketball season. He had an enormous heart for everyone and all animals, his love for dogs was well known. Kevin greeted life with humor and his memories will fill the hearts of his family for years to come. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents: Bud and Janice Smith; and older brother Jeffery. He will be lovingly remembered by his two children: Danielle (Will) Mears, and Taylor Smith; their mother Brenda Smith; his Brother Greg (Laura) Smith, and Niece Heather (Patrick) Woods; his dog Rocky, and a large network of extended family, friends, and co-workers.

Services

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, KS 66203. A Funeral service is set for 11:00 AM, Wednesday May 27, 2015 also at the Funeral Home.

Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Kevin's name may be made to St. Luke's Hospice House.
