Dale Mark Luetjen

Dale Mark Luetjen, 58, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 25, 2020. Dale was born in Kansas City, MO on May 8, 1962. He was raised on the family farm in Higginsville, MO and graduated from Higginsville C-1 High School in 1980. He continued his education at Evangel College in Springfield, MO and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. After college, he pursued a career with Rycom Instruments in Raytown, MO, the Kansas City Convention and Visitor's Bureau, and Kansas Manufacturing Solutions (MAMTC)  in Overland Park, KS. Through his work with the Greenwood Mercantile and  Trendz, he soon discovered that his true passion was restoring and repurposing vintage furniture. He became an entrepreneur and started ReDeux, which is one of the premier businesses offering painted furniture, architectural salvage creations and unique accessories. He truly found his people among the many friends in this industry across the Midwest including those in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, Junkstock in Nebraska, Junk Jubilee in Iowa, Louisburg Market Street in Kansas, and numerous other locations. Dale was intensely creative, extremely talented and because of his extraordinary kindness, he had a unique ability to connect with people.

Dale is survived by his mother Virginia; sisters Debbie Stiegler and husband Dan of Lee's Summit; Tammy Jones and husband Jeremy of Shawnee, KS, Nieces and nephews - Josiah and Destiny Stacy; Regan, Gavin, Garrison and Adison Jones and great nephew Dezmond. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Luetjen in 2016.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, August 30 at 4 pm at RE:emporium (1717 Washington St, KCMO). Visitation with the family is from 2 - 4 pm, prior to the service.
