Dan K. Miller, 70, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.

Dan was born November 5, 1940, to the late William Jr. and Flora Miller in Louisville, Kentucky. Dan was a heavy equipment operator for Western Farms near Rupert, Idaho, before retiring in 2005. He also served as a volunteer fireman in Le Mars, Iowa, before he relocated to Idaho. Dan was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. Dan enjoyed working with his hands and had a small engine and saw sharpening service. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart, and could always be counted on by his neighbors if they ever needed a hand.

Dan is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, and his brothers William Miller, III and Gordon Miller. He is survived by his son Shannon Miller and wife Susan; two daughters, Amy Bergquist and husband Jon and Kim Mullally and husband Pat; stepchildren Raymond Beek and wife Belinda, and Jodi Wilson and husband Mike; two sisters Patsy and Mary Miller; a brother AJ Miller; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.

Visitation

A visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee.
