Dan E. Taylor

Dan E. Taylor, 86, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Dan was born in Prowers County, CO. He was a US Army Veteran. Dan was a school teacher - principal from 1957 - 64, then was a mail carrier for the Shawnee Mission Post Office for 26 years before retiring.

He married Mary Stoaks on June 16, 1953. Survivors include his wife, Mary, eight children, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Taylor in 2015 and a granddaughter, Coleen Rose.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday at the Amos Family Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12 noon, Friday. Burial will be 1:30 p.m., Monday at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
