Daniel "Dan" Boyer, fondly known as "Pappy," went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 25, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas, at the age of 87. Born on October 5, 1937, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Dan led a life marked by dedication to his family, faith, and hard work.

Dan spent his early years working alongside his family on their farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. He later served his country with honor in the United States Navy. Following his service, Dan pursued a career as a carpenter and was a proud member of Carpenters Local 61. His skills as a craftsman were well-regarded, and his work left a lasting impact on those around him.

A man of many talents, Dan also took to the open road as an over-the-road truck driver before settling into a role as a local truck driver. Throughout his varied career, Dan remained committed to providing for his family, church and serving his community.

Dan was a devoted member of his church, where he was affectionately known as the "Candy Man," always bringing joy and sweetness to those around him. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he pursued numerous courses at The Nazarene College, deepening his understanding and love of the Bible.

Family gatherings were a source of great joy for Dan. He cherished spending time with his family, especially playing with his beloved great-grandchildren. His warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Daniel Boyer and Nadine May Roark Boyer, and his son, Curtis Lynn Boyer.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kelly Boyer; grandchildren, Jennifer Boyer, Devin Boyer, Shane Boyer, and Sheldon Boyer; great-grandchildren, O'Dell Boyer and Annabella Boyer; his sister, Peggy Langworthy Stephens; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Betty Boyer Ritz.

The family will announce service arrangements at a later date. Dan's legacy of love, faith, and dedication will be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
