Danna Gale Parsloe, 69, of Prairie Village, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her home.
Danna was born November 7, 1946 to the late George and Opal Walenta in Oklahoma City. She was a member of Will Rogers high school class of 1964 and earned a bachelor's of education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Danna worked as an elementary school teacher for over 20 years at Whittier Elementary in Kansas City, Kansas. She retired in 2007. Danna loved giraffes and had an extensive collection in every shape, size, color and material imaginable. She enjoyed traveling to Seattle and around the country visiting friends and family. She liked crafting, sewing and preserving special memories by scrapbooking.
Danna is survived by her brother Danny Dale Walenta; a niece, Sarah E. Evans and husband Andrew; great nephew, George A. Walenta; great niece, Danielle E. Walenta and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. Danna will be laid to rest next to her parents in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
