David Trent Jones, 74, Kansas City, KS passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the University of Kansas Med. Ctr. Kansas City, KS.
Trent was born March 11, 1944 in Red Oak, IA to George and Hazel (Jenkins) Jones. He was a graduate of Red Oak High School in 1962. Trent worked for Wilson Concrete in Omaha, NE and transferred to Kansas City, KS. He became an iron worker in October 1977, joining Iron Workers Local #10 and retiring in 2003. Trent worked on many projects including, Kemper Arena, Bartle Hall, Harrahs, Argosy, Flamingo, and Sam's Town Casinos, cages at the Kansas City Zoo, parking garages at KUMC, bridges over Kaw and Missouri Rivers, mausoleums at Resurrection Cemtery, assembly lines at Ford-Claycomo, Nascar Kansas Speedway and several buildings downtown.
Trent was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sherri Jones on Aug. 1, 2014, sister, Karen Rahn, and brother-in-law, Charles Reasoner. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Frances (Creten) Jones; granddaughters, Carrie (Joseph) Sterling, Kansas City, KS and Callie (Landon) Schoemig, Overland Park, KS; grandson, Brent Lidtke, Kansas City, KS; son-in-law, Scott Lidtke, Kansas City, KS; sister, LaDonna (Harold) Rossander, Stanton, IA; brother, Larry (Katie) Jones, Snowmass Village, CO; brother-in-law, Richard Rahn, Omaha, NE; two great grandchildren, Ava Mae Schoemig and Trent Lucas Sterling; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Reasoner, Joyce (Michael) Clarrey, and Karen (Scott Heins) Creten; four nephews; one niece and several great nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 15 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home; burial in Resurrection Cemetery.
