David Edward Lail

David Edward Lail, 55, of Prairie Village, KS died December 22, 2022, at his home.

A visitation honoring David's life is scheduled for Saturday, January 21st from 2-4 pm at the Campbell Dome House in Overland Park, Kansas.

David was born on November 24, 1967, to Paul Alvin and Josephine Elizabeth (Burke) Lail in Atlantis, Florida.

Spending most of his childhood years in Columbus, Ga., David moved to the Kansas City area in 1983 where he attended Shawnee Mission East High School, graduating in 1985. After graduation, he moved to Lawrence, Kansas to attend the University of Kansas. In 2000, David married the love of his life, Shelly Hodges, ultimately settling in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood where they raised their two children, Sophia, and Griffin. Devoting much of his life to his loving family and closest friends, David was not only a loving husband but an adoring father, and long-time friend. David will be remembered for his kind and accepting nature, eccentric outlook on life, never-ending passion for music and books, and his many cats. He will be missed beyond belief by those that loved him so.

He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Tina Marie Elizabeth Gaither.
