David Neal

d. April 28, 2022

David Neal passed away, April 28, 2022.

David attended and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1968. He excelled in math and physics. He remained single his whole life.

David was preceded in death by his Father, Warren Neal, and his Mother, Alma Frances Neal of Mission, Kansas. He leaves a younger sister: Janet Archer and brother-in-law Dr. Rex Archer; nephew, Dr. Eric Archer and his wife, Sarah, grand-nephew Caleb and grand-niece Charlotte Archer all of Kansas City, MO; Niece: Vala Archer of Seattle, WA.

David enjoyed computers when they first arrived, but not so much when everything changed rapidly. He attended many holidays at his sister’s home and with his nephew, niece, grand nephew, grand niece there. He had a very good sense of humor and consistently, year after year,  remembered people’s birthdays with a birthday card, that was often very funny.

David had special challenges to his health by the time he was in his late teens. He was proud of himself for working by mowing lawns as a young man, on a crew. He later in life got his certified nurse assistant training and worked at that for a brief time, until his health declined. He was proud of living in his own places in spite of health challenges.

David was a good listener, kind, and loved the years of his youth of visiting, the Foley Farm.  He enjoyed talking to his mechanic cousin about all things mechanical.  David built his own go-cart when he was 11 years old. He sold penny candy to kids in the neighborhood and made a good profit until his little sister watched his candy stand and ate up his profits. He forgave her.

A Memorial Gathering will occur during the summer of 2022, outdoors, with close relatives and friends, organized by Janet Archer, to be announced later.
