David Jack Price

David Jack Price, 91, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010 at his home.

Mr. Price was born October 7, 1918 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jack worked as a courier for the War Department in Washington, D.C. He served in the Canal Zone in 1942 and the U.S. Army 35th Infintry Division in the Pacific. In 1947 Jack married Betty C. Leake at the Second Methodist Church, Kansas City, Missouri.

Jack owned Water Systems Service Co., was a volunteer paramedic for the City of Shawnee for many years and a storm spotter for Johnson County Civil Defense. He was a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54, Abdallah Shrine, Scottish Rite in Kansas City, Kansas; and the American Legion Post #327.

Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty C. Price; four daughters, Suzan McIntire, Paola, Kansas, Janice Hillyard, DeSoto, Texas, Marge Petzold and Judy Murray both of Lenexa, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Service

A Masonic and White Rose service will be at 1:00 pm, followed by a visitation, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee; funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm. Cremation will follow.
