David E. Uhrmacher, 53, Shawnee Kansas died at home surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. David was born Oct. 7, 1962, and lived most of his life in Shawnee, Kansas. He graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest high school. He worked as an operating engineer for many years at both Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Children's Mercy Hospital. David married Christine Duran in July of 1983. David spent his life caring for his wife and family; he enjoyed many activities, including golf, playing pool, biking, spending time with family and friends, and hunting on his family farm in Hale, Missouri. David was preceded in death by his father, Richard Uhrmacher, his paternal grandparents, William and Vera Uhrmacher; and his maternal grandparents Gene and Mary Burks. David is survived by his wife, Christine, of the home; three sons, Daniel of Shawnee, Tony and his wife Lisa of Lenexa, and Owen of the home. He is also survived by his mother, Kathryn Uhrmacher and Ed Pottratz of Lenexa, his brother Keith Uhrmacher of Lenexa, and by his three granddaughters, Alyson, Emma and Baylea. David will be remembered by many family, friends, nieces and nephews as a great father, husband, poppy, son and uncle, with an amazing work ethic who was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 5325 Nieman Road, Shawnee Kansas, at 4 pm on Friday, March 4, 2016. A reception will follow the service at the clubhouse of Hampshire Square town homes, 67th and Bradshaw Street, Shawnee, Kansas.
