David Conrad Widmer, 64, of Shawnee, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014 at his home.
David was born January 18, 1950 to the late Harold and Sarah Widmer in Kansas City, Kansas. David was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and archery. He enjoyed barbequing and cooked the world's best crappie. In his younger days, David loved riding horses and was a member of the Shawnee Rough Riders. He also competed on the local rodeo circuit riding broncos. He was a member of the Laborers Local Union 1290 and worked for the city of Roeland Park for over 8 years. He was an excellent bowler, and was a member of the WyJon Men's Bowling Association and has several "300" rings to his credit.
David is survived by his 7 children, Tammy Rutledge; Bridet Montanez (Angel); Joseph Nispel; David Conrad Widmer, II; Josie Lee Widmer; Dakotah Widmer; Cassie Widmer; 2 sisters Darri Lee Ussery (John); Patricia M. Harmon (Alan); sister in law, Yvette Reynolds (Michael).
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 9143 Haskins, Lenexa, KS 66215.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 3rd at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with burial in Old Monticello Cemetery.
