Dawn Ann Dodd

Dawn Ann Dodd, 56, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013.

She was born October 31, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas, to Don and Virginia Kennett. Dawn graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1975 and has lived in the Shawnee Mission area most of her life. She worked in purchasing as a career for area companies. Dawn was talented, intelligent and kind. She very much enjoyed crafting and the arts. In later years she took a great interest in the Native American culture, and was proud of her Sac and Fox heritage. A good friend even taught her some native dancing. Dawn was a loving grandmother to Kameron Kring, Kylie, AnnaLynn, and Adrian Dodd. She also looked forward to the birth of two more grandsons.

She is survived by sons Derek (Caitlin), Kyle (Jennifer), and Adrian Dodd; sisters, Sara Coss (Mike) of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Jana Kimberling (Mike) of Shawnee, Kansas; her parents, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and an uncle. Her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to greet you from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am, also at the funeral home. A private family interment of Dawn's ashes will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dawn's memory to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care in honor of their excellent care and compassion given to her.
