Dawn M. Hruby, 61, of Mission, KS went home to be with her heavenly Father on December 14, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dawn was born October 2, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Francis and Jane Schreiner. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1976. While volunteering for vacation Bible school in downtown Kansas City, Dawn met her future husband, Rev. Mike Hruby. Shortly after, they were married on May 19, 1984. Dawn was strong in her faith and loved to pray with friends, family and anyone who needed it. She was an active member of Nall Avenue Church of the Nazarene, where for a time she led the Women's Ministries and participated in Sunday school, various prayer groups, vacation Bible school and worship. Dawn was always there to offer a welcoming smile to all newcomers to the church. She was proud to serve as an administrative assistant with Salvation Army for many years in St. Louis and Kansas City. When she wasn't at church, Dawn enjoyed working out at Genesis Fitness and wouldn't miss a day.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Mike Hruby; a brother, Frank Schreiner and many dear family and friends.
