Dean W. Erickson

Dean W. Erickson, 84, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, at the Evergreen Community.

Dean was born August 5, 1927, to the late Walter and Imo Erickson in Atlanta, Illinois. After graduating from high school, Dean enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served during World War II. On June 6, 1948, Dean married Louise Foley in McLean, Illinois; she preceded him in death on January 17, 1993. He worked as an Engineer for AT & T for forty years before retiring in 1988.

Dean is also preceded in death by his twin grandsons, Jason Luther and Christopher Lee.

He is survived by his two sons, Steve Erickson and wife Marie, and Mike Erickson and wife Beth; two daughters, Susan Foresman and husband Rex, and Sally Womack and husband Keith Hare; a brother, Glenn Erickson and wife Marion; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many members of the Foley family.

A visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Services will follow the visitation at 10 a.m., with burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Evergreen Community.
