Dean Franklin Murrell

Dean F. Murrell, 54, Shawnee, KS passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Overland Park Medical Center, Overland Park, KS. Dean was born June 25, 1959 in Sioux City, IA to Norman Gayle and Jane Lorie Murrell. He was raised in Oto and Sloan, IA and was a 1978 graduate of Westwood High School. During and following high school, Dean worked at Watson Locker and Farmland Industries. On Sept 3, 1983, Dean married Rene' Bradshaw in Salix, IA. Later they moved to the Kansas City area where he graduated from DeVry Institute. Dean was employed with Siemens Medical Systems for over 30 years.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Lorie Murrell. Survivors include his wife, Rene' Murrell; daughter, Ashley Murrell; son, Austin Murrell all of Shawnee, KS; father, Gayle Murrell, Sloan, IA; two sisters, Lorie (Ronnie) Jepsen, Bronson, IA and Carla (Steve) Crawford, Sloan, IA; brother, Ronald (Kathie) Murrell, Kearny, MO and many other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
